1. Tri tip steaks (as in, tri tip that’s cut into steak-sized portions) work well in the oven. Just make sure to put a little water at the bottom of the pan, sprinkle some salt & pepper on ’em, and pre-heat the oven to like 425 and reduce heat to 350 after a couple minutes.

2. I’m very much digging the tech work, though I’ve been in housework catchup mode lately. (Still am, as I’ve lost most of today to a migraine.)

3. Spring is nearly here… woo hoo! The daffodils have made their appearance, and all that snow seems to have helped some of the lawn re-appear here and there.

4. Our eldest cat, Velcro, is 21. The next eldest, Xtra, is 16. They’re the original two cats my husband had when I met him 13 years ago.

5. My poor husband’s lumbago has been really bad this year. 🙁

Experiment update

Well, so far so good. 🙂

I spent most of the weekend’s work hours doing eBay stuff instead of cleaning, but I did get a lot done.

It’s odd, but the mere act of putting on old work clothes seems to get me in the frame of mind to work. Maybe it’s the 12 years I spent wearing school uniforms. 😉

Experiments in Housewifery

As you can see, I added a Twitter feed to my blog.

Y’see, I’m from Worker Ant stock… I thrive more on a set schedule than I do trying to follow my own schedule. I tried for years to go against that, ’cause I am a bit of a free spirit. That didn’t work at all, so I’m going to make that Worker Ant stock work for me.

In the quest to be a better housewife, I’m doing two things, starting today:
1. Cleaning from 11am to 3pm
2. Logging all that I do on my Twitter feed.

I honestly hope this becomes a habit and something that makes me a lot more productive.

The Spring Ant Wars of 2008 have begun!

So far they’ve been mostly upstairs, but I found them in the laundry room & kitchen today as well.  *sigh*

Lotsa things

Trying to balance cleaning and sewing this weekend.

Got the dishes under control, and the Chez Feline is almost done. Still have to clear all my shit out of the living room, and I really don’t want to leave that for tomorrow. I won’t even consider cleaning my room until the rest of the house looks better, though I really do need to tidy up.

I made a couple cute bags today.  A couple were recycling old items–a skirt and a bag of pinto beans.  My husband commented that I’m getting better as a result of my lessons. 🙂

Crocheted part of my Faire costume–1 of 2 hats that I’ll need. Might have a basket. I’m totally looking forward to this!! 🙂

Took a whole lot of recycling to the dump yesterday. If the cats were toilet trained, I’d probably be able to recycle a good 80% of what we use. 😉
